Andrew B. Lyons
Pastor Lyons is originally from Lousiville, Kentucky. At age 11 (1983) he trusted Christ as his Savior after viewing a film on the Second Coming. It was during his senior year at college that the Lord called him to preach.
He met his wife, Rebecca, while assisting with Kid's Krusades in Bowling Green, Kentucky. They were married on May 18, 2002.
He is a graduate of Crown College. After graduation he served as an assistant pastor in Louisville, Kentucky for ten years. There his ministry involvement included children's ministry director, assistant transportation director, junior camp week director, summer children's evangelism, and a Bible teacher at the college. He then served as pastor for nearly two years in South Carolina.
He has been serving as pastor of Decatur Baptist Church since December 2005.
He also serves as a member of the advisory review board of Indiana Baptist College, located in Greenwood, Indiana.
He has made it a life long goal of preaching and teaching through the books of the Bible. In 2020, a portion of this goal was fulfilled when he finished the New Testament. He looks forward to accomplishing the entire goal when he finishes the book of Isaiah.
Each week he strives to make each message or lesson clear, simple, and relevant to challenge you in your relationship with the Lord, spiritual growth, and daily life. On Wednesday evenings we meet in the Family Center and a Power Point presentation accompanies the lesson. He currently teaches the Sunday Morning "Discover the Bible" class for various ages. We invite you to come and discover God's Word with us.
Pastor Lyons and Rebecca will be available at the back door of the auditorium on Sunday mornings. They look forward to meeting you.
